Burning Arms and its variations are exercises designed to build fluidity, repetition, and movement in Flowbat. Each version progressively prepares you for longer, more intense bouts. You’ll need at least two participants to begin.
This drill consists of two movements:
Participants alternate between attacking and defending, with one key rule—when blocking, your hands must switch sides. If you block a strike with your hands on the right side of your body, the next block must be on the left, and vice versa.
For those studying Forms beyond Form 1, you may incorporate your Form’s movements, provided your partner agrees.
Identical to Traditional, but each participant takes a step forward to attack, and a step back to defend.
Rather than restricting to the Top strike and it's block, you may strike anywhere in your forms Ten Step Pattern. This can also be done in the movement style of Back and Forth, or Static like Traditional.
Follows the same rules as Burning Arms or One for One, but incorporates both movement and conversation. Parcitipants are required to take 1 step at least for each Attack and its block, while talking to each other. Subject does not matter, this forces both participants to move and breathe while attacking and defending.
Follows the same rules as Burning Arms or One for One, but requires three or more participants in a circle.
